4 Days Lisbon, Exploring Afro-Portuguese Bars, Music, Dance, Cuisine & Day Trip

Portugal’s Soulful Capital

Join me for a quick pick me up break in Lisbon, one of Europe’s most charming capitals, relaxed, sun-drenched, historic, and increasingly international. It blends old-world beauty with a young, creative, global energy.

Full of warm and welcoming, stylish vibes but not flashy, calm by day, soulful by night

AMAZING HISTORY & CHARACTER

Lisbon is built on 7 hills, giving you postcard views everywhere, it’s one of Europe’s oldest cities (older than Rome) Influenced by explorers, Africa, Brazil, and the Atlantic world

If we have enough time lets explore the neighbourhood

Alfama with narrow streets, fado music, old Lisbon

Chiado is elegant, literary, central

Príncipe Real is stylish, creative and social

Avenida da Liberdade full of luxury hotels, wealth and diplomacy

MUSIC, DANCE & CULTURE

We will be attending lively music venues with Dj’s or live music with eatery great to burn off calories after a delicious meal.

Music is central to Lisbon’s identity: Fado is (traditional, emotional Portuguese music) Strong African & Afro-diaspora influence (Cape Verdean, Angolan, Mozambican) Afro-house, kizomba, batida, hip-hop scenes thrive at night. Dancing starts late (often after 10:30pm) with a diverse crowd with great vibes.

FOOD SCENE

Lisbon’s food reflects its global history:

Fresh seafood (grilled fish, octopus), African and Afro-Portuguese cuisine. Brazilian, Mozambican, Cape Verdean flavours, with great wine at very affordable prices. We can eat very well on a budget, especially outside tourist traps.

PEOPLE & DIVERSITY

Lisbon is increasingly international: with Portuguese locals, African & Afro-Portuguese communities, Brazilians, Europeans, Americans, and digital nomads. Love it as it creates a diverse, mixed, stylish crowd, especially in music, food, and nightlife spaces.

The country’s population is diverse, with over 2,000 ethnic groups, and the most important local languages include Tsonga, Makhuwa, Sena, Chichewa, and Swahili.
